Education System:
In Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun there is a provision of providing education form class 6th to class 12th in Hindi medium in specified subjects and syllabus specified by ministry of Education.

Qualification:
1. Admission will be granted in class 6 only.
2. Student should be resident of Uttarakhand.
3. For admission in class 6, student should not be greater than 12 years and less than 10 years on 1 July of admission year.
4. Healthy and having sports spirit.
5. Medical examination: During main selection process applicant will be examined by medical officer for medical fitness and age. Applicant will be considered suitable for final selection after qualifying this test.

Testimonials/Certificate:
a. Applicant is required to submit following certificates along with the filled application with photograph for appearing in main exam:
• Birth certificate
• 5th class mark sheet
• Domicile

b. After qualifying entrance exam applicant is required to submit following certificates in college before final selection:
• Transfer certificate issued by previous school, which must be countersigned by the District Education Inspector, Primary Education Officer, Deputy Education Inspector along with the mark sheet of 5th class.
• Domicile certificates (Certified by magistrate).
• Agreement bond with college on non judicial stamp paper of Rs 100/- (Rupees Hundred only).
• 4 copies of passport size identical photographs.
• Life insurance, medical insurance of student by guardians is essential, whose certificate is to be submitted in college every year.

Fees:
Every student is required to submit the fees as per table below:

Caution Money:
It is essential to deposit Rs 1000/- as caution money at the time of admission by the guardian. This will be refunded to student on leaving the college permanently after deduction of dues if any. Caution money will be seized if the student withdraws from college before completion of course and dues will be charged separately. Any destruction of college property by the student will lead to seize the caution money. Annual maintenance charge will be deducted from this amount.

Miscellaneous expenditure:
Every student is required to deposit amount of Rs 1500/- in Miscellaneous expenditure amount for a year which will be paid for washing, ironing, hair cutting etc. and Rs 2400/- should be deposited in college account as pocket money (Rs 2000/- pocket money and Rs 400/- Bad cover) which will be given to student on demand by principle for participation in state/ national sporting events and other monthly expenses.

Note: The amount of college fees should be deposited in a single installment in form of bank draft on starting of session. Fees should be deposited timely by guardians. No concession in fee will be granted in case of two brothers or wards of single guardian. Cash or cheques are not acceptable. Bank draft should be drawn in favour of Principal, Maharana Pratap Sports College, Raipur Dehradun, whose detail will be made on admission form.

Separate drafts are required for fees, caution money, miscellaneous expenses and pocket money in favour of Principal, Maharana Pratap Sports College, Raipur Dehradun, whose detail will be made on admission form.

Scholarship and Fee:
On noticeable performance in recognized nation events, the fees deposited by student will be refunded as encouragement as under:
1. First position (Gold medal) - 100%
2. Second position (Silver medal) - 66 %
3. Third position (Bronz medal) - 33 %

Besides this sports scholarship is granted on getting medal in national school sports by Ministrry of Education. Incentives are also granted by Ministry of Sports, Uttarakhand govt. on getting medals on nation level. Along with games, students obtaining good marks in board exams are also honored by the college.

Leaving college by student and rustication:
It is essential to inform the college by the guardian, in case of withdrawing the student before starting next session. Failing in this all the security money may be confiscated. Besides this, the amount invested on the student may be recovered by the college.

Principal may Expel/rusticate the student for following reasons in interest of other student. In this case the amount invested on the student may be recovered from guardian by the college.
1. If student has not maintained the discipline or his behavior is found un-appropriate with students or staff members which may adversely affect other students, principal has the right to expel the student on the basis of disciplinary action.
2. If student has not attained the standard performance in sports and or education.
3. All the reasons mentioned in state education code of conduct.
4. Students are selected from all over Uttarakhand, therefore it is essential to secure good position in state level events in their age group within time period of three years. If student do not achieve a minimum level of performance in this duration and there are adverse comments by the expert committee, then he may be liable to discontinue the college from next session.
5. Student may be relieved from college in case of a major health problem or injury. (Expense recovery is not applicable)

Sports/Educational Assessment Committee:
Evaluation of progress of student will be based on his performance in monthly, quarterly , Half yearly and annual examinations and attendance. Accordingly he will be promoted to next class. At the end of session every student will be assessed by an expert sports committee and may be recommended for expulsion if found unsuitable.
At the end of session, not attaining a particular level in sports and academics will essentially lead to expulsion from college.

Re –Admission:
Students will be granted only one chance for readmission in any class (6 to 11th) in following circumstances:
1. Failed student will be readmitted to the same class if the annual assessment committee has expressed a possibility to rise on the basis of his skill. Or he could not participate in national/ international camp because of failing in examination.
2. On failing the annual assessment once in a class, the student will be re-admitted in same class if he has got good marks in exams same year and he is disciplined and has good conduct.
3. In spite of passing in exams of 8th and 10th class, student will be granted admission in next class on the recommendation of specialized assessment committee after evaluation of last year’s result and discipline.

Note: only one chance of re-admission in six years will be granted on the basis of above points, otherwise student has to leave the college.

Progress Report: Guardians are informed about the activities and progress of the student during the whole session.
